Learning to scootch

As we enter our final week of preparation for Christmas, I want to encourage everyone to welcome those who may be joining us for Christmas that are either visitors or have not been to Mass in a while. A practical way to do this is if you are at the end of a pew and there is room at the middle of the pew, scoot in so that our visitor has an easier time finding a seat. Then, of course, don’t be afraid to say hello and start a conversation with them after Mass. We are happy to have them here!

We have finally decided on the Patron Ballot for our Family of Parishes. This was done with the nominations you all submitted being counted and then your reasoning being passed onto the staff and Family Implementation Team. Input first was taken from the staff who came up with eight possible patrons from the nominations parishioners made. Then the Family Implementation Team narrowed our ballot to four possible patrons. As I write this, I am checking with the archdiocese to ensure that the patrons we have on our ballot would qualify as a suitable name for a future canonical parish. So, I want to make sure we have the okay before I announce what the ballot will have on it.

Please check the Bulletin for Christmas Mass times. It will be the same as it has been for each parish over the past few years. But since Christmas is on a Sunday, please check to see how the schedule is different than it normally is for our weekend schedule.

Thank you to the staff for the good work they have put in over the holiday season and throughout the year. We could not do it without them. Please keep them in prayer and thank them for all they do.

Peace in Christ,

Fr. Jarred Kohn
