Alleluia!
The Lord has Risen from the dead! This is the fact upon which the entirety of Christian doctrine and life rests and depends. Without the Resurrection of Christ from the dead, our Faith is in vain. Nothing we do on a Sunday matters, nothing we profess with our lips matters, no action we take as a Christian matters, unless Jesus has been raised from the dead. By rising, Jesus confirms that He is who He says He is, which is the Son of God, God Himself. This is simply the way that it is. But as a result, we also must see that we must live differently. There is a reason why we are joyful, there is also a reason that we must take the things of the Lord seriously. First and foremost, the Mass and then the Sacraments.
People wonder why we at Holy Angels take the Mass so seriously and why we focus on the Lord first and foremost. It is because of what we just experienced. Jesus died for our sins... what a gift! But then He rose from the dead! This assures those who are baptized into His death and Resurrection that they share in His eternal reward If they remain faithful to His commandments and entrust themselves to His Mercy again and again. What a gift! What a priceless pearl! What an opportunity! If we give Him our entire selves at Mass, He will give us everything we need to live well and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Throughout the coming weeks of Easter, we will begin to get a better picture of what life will look like for our Family of Parishes. So, keep your eyes peeled and ears perked for updates and communication from various places. Thank you again for your patience and perseverance through this entire process. I am truly thankful for all the Lord continues to do in our midst.
I would also like to personally thank Lori Elsass for the excellent job she has done for Holy Angels as our Receptionist. Her friendly demeanor and diligent work ethic are going to be sorely missed. I know I am going to miss her support and encouragement she gave so freely when she noticed I was down.
Peace in Christ,
Fr. Jarred Kohn
