The Resurrection of the Dead
In the Easter Season we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection with joy and praise. But Easter is also an opportunity to buttress our own belief in the Resurrection of the Dead and our own resurrection personally. Obviously, if you are reading this in the bulletin that you got at Mass you believe in heaven and life after death, but I think we can glean so much more about what it means when we proclaim in the Nicene Creed that “I believe in the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting”, when we look at Jesus’ Resurrection we can gain some insight into what our eternity will be like though “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 12:9)
But reflecting on the truth and beauty of our eternal destiny helps to lead us into a greater desire for heaven but also to encourage us to grow in sanctity in the here and now. We have a share in what we witness Jesus reveal to us in this Easter season. Resurrection is for real, and we should desire for ourselves, our loved ones, and all to experience the good things God has in store for those who love Him.
Please remember to pray for the next pastor and vicar of St. Joseph, Pillar of Families. Fr. Aaron and I would also appreciate your prayers as well. May the Lord continue to pour out His grace upon each and every one of you.
Also, a friendly reminder that we will be moving to using Ministry Scheduler Pro to implement a more unified and convenient way to schedule ministries in our Family of Parishes. Our hope is that it will also help to keep families on the same Mass for the same weekend once we are able to get that information into the system.
Thank you to our many volunteers who help with everything from Religious Education to landscaping to helping set up for various events. Your time and effort are much appreciated even if it is not seen by many or any.
Peace in Christ,
Fr. Jarred Kohn
