Liturgical Ministries

During the Mass, there are several opportunities for volunteers. Please consider volunteering for any of them!

Current Schedules

Lectors

The primary purpose of the lector is to proclaim the Word of the Lord at the Sunday liturgies. In addition to being on a rotating schedule for the weekend Masses, lectors may be requested to read at "special liturgies" or "prayer services" throughout the year. Yearly workshops are held to train new lectors and promote the spiritual development of the reading ministry. If interested contact the Holy Angels parish office.

*Lector must be confirmed, practicing Catholics as understood by the Church. Attire for Lectors is modest and formal. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to mass and check in with the sacristy. Lectors are responsible for finding a replacement if unable to attend Mass. Thank you for your ministry to our church!

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are called to serve the parish community in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. Training sessions are held throughout the year. If interested in becoming a minister and participating in a training session, contact Holy Angels Church at (937) 498-2307 or Elaine McCracken, Coordinator of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at (937) 658-3383.

Ushers

Ushers are faithfully present at all weekend and Holy Day Masses. They greet and seat parishioners, collect the offering, and see to many details, before and after Mass. If you are interested in becoming an usher, contact the Parish Office at (937) 498-2307.

Musical Ministries

The Music Ministry of Holy Angels offers opportunities for parishioners to enhance the liturgical celebrations through the use of musical skills - vocal and instrumental.

Funeral Choir
If you are interested in participating in this beautiful ministry, we would love for you to join us as we pray for the repose of the soul of our fellow parishioners and support and comfort their loved ones by singing and providing leadership during the funeral Mass. There are no practices for the funeral choir, but we ask that you arrive 15 minutes before Mass begins. Please contact music@holyangelssidney.com for more information!
