WORSHIP
COMMISSION
The
Worship Commission enters into the liturgical life of
the parish community and keeps in focus the reality
that through baptism the gathered community is the foundation
of setting for the liturgy. It is the gathered community,
the assembly, which performs the liturgical actions,
not the clergy or lay ministers alone. This commission
oversees and evaluates the various liturgical ministries
including celebration of the liturgy, liturgical planning,
lectors, communion ministry, ushers, altar servers,
and music. The commission is directed toward the improvement
of the quality of our worship. The membership includes
the pastor, assistant pastor, pastoral associate, and
representatives of the liturgical ministries, as well
as other parishioners interested in fostering good worship
through rejoicing, renewing and reaching out to others.

LECTORS
The
primary purpose of the lector is to proclaim the Word
of the Lord at the Sunday liturgies. In addition to
being on a rotating schedule for the weekend Masses,
lectors may be requested to read at "special liturgies"
or "prayer services" throughout the year.
Yearly workshops are held to train new lectors and promote
the spiritual development of the reading ministry. If
interested contact Leo Steinke or Mary Ellen Schweitzer.

CANTORS
Cantors
are song leaders. The purpose of the cantor is to enable
greater participation both in singing and praying by
the entire worshiping community. The ministry of the
parish cantor is to bring the song of the assembled
community to life and to assist the people so that their
song may be prayer from the heart as well as from the
head.
